Real life story of a cancer patient cured by Distant Naturopathy

Cancer Patient living 16,000 km away  cured  - through
telephonic treatment by naturopathy

(A thrilling, real life story of a patient living in USA)

Mrs. Uma bahen Thaker of USA was reading “Gujarat Times”, a weekly newspaper published in her country and she came across one article about a cancer patient who was cured with naturopathy treatment from our Nihar Arogya Mandir. She immediately contacted me by email, describing her illness. So many such emails and letters are received and it is difficult to find spare time for free treatment of affording patients.

For some unknown reasons, I went through only Uma bahen’s email that day and sent her my phone number. We talked on phone and her treatment was started. Her breast cancer had relapsed after five years and it was cured by naturopathy without chemotherapy….

Jay Swaminarayan, Mr. Mukesh bhai, Mrs. Deepika bahen. I am sending copies of all my medical reports as per our telephonic talk. The latest reports of my cancer are quite normal and disease has gone! I am still on my thyroid medicines and please suggest some treatment for the same from your treasure of naturopathic cures. I am daily taking one Levothroxine 88mg tablet as prescribed by my physician. I am sending the detailed story about my journey to health with this letter.
After living in USA for 33 years, I very little practice of writing in our mother tongue. Occasional letter writing in Gujarati is now limited to our ‘rakhsa bandhan’ festival. My real life story begins with how I got to know about your Nihar Arogya Mandir and naturopathy treatment.
“From West Hartford, Connecticut, USA to
Ranip, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

When I read the article titled “Cancer gets cancelled” about Minal bahen Sheth’s experience after her chemotherapy at your Nihar Arogya Mandir in the GUJARAT TIMES (weekly) in July 2010, I hardly knew that this article would not only change my own life for ever but will be useful to bring back the joy of life in the lives of many others.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time in 2005.  I was operated and I also took chemotherapy as per the advanced medical treat available at that time. In USA, the patient is given very heavy doses of chemotherapy to remove any chance of relapse of cancer in future once again! Even then, in my case, in 2010, I was once again diagnosed with this cancer and the surgery was done second time on 17th June, 2010.
As per the advice of my Oncologist (cancer specialist), I was asked to take second opinion from another expert at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on 16th July. (This is the highest ranked cancer institute in New England region of USA). It was clearly advised that I will have to take ‘chemo’ once again for six months, even after this second opinion! I was greatly disappointed. If my cancer can relapse in five years even after such latest medical treatment , then where was the guarantee that after the new course of chem., it would not happen third time! If it can happen second time, then it can happen third time also, isn’t it?
My thoughts travelled back to memory lane five years ago. I could once again experience what had happened five years ago. First, the diagnosis of cancer in October 2005. Then came the surgery. It was followed by very aggressive chemotherapy. There after, for seven continuous weeks I had taken radiation. I had already gone through such very painful times that time.

I felt very weak even to think about chemotherapy once more. I did lot of deep thinking myself. I discussed the subject with friends and my family and relatives. Every one said that there is no alternative but to take chemotherapy. But I said that I am very reluctant and do not wish to take it. But none of them agreed with my strong, inner feelings.
After these discussions, with the grace of Shriji Maharaj and my divine good fortune, I remembered the article I had read about Minal bahen’s cure. I repeatedly read it two to three times. Then I tried to contact Nihar Arogya Mandir around 19th or 20th July by telephone. This attempt was unsuccessful so that I sent an email.
In spite of his very busy schedule, Mukeshbhai replied my email. It was followed by our telephonic talk. After gathering all information about my condition, he said: “I can’t show any mercy on you. If I have to keep you alive, I will have to put you on fasts... please remember, fasting does not mean starving.”
Fasting is a completely scientific and very wonderful, age-old method of treatment in naturopathy but it is slowly disappearing in the modern times. I had no objection at all to such ‘medicine-less’ treatment. To me, his suggestion was really God sent. But my near and dear ones started to protest against this method.

Minal bahen’s article was published in Gujarat Times, USA. She had narrated her real life experience of Naturopathy treatment from Nihar in that article. Many emails and phone calls from USA were received after that.

One email was from a 75 year old Indian doctor in New York. He was unable to sleep or eat after his cancer surgery. I had replied his email as well as Uma bahen’s this email.

She had asked me that: “you do not take any phone calls and you do not know me also. Then how come showed willingness to talk to me?”

I had said: “There was some divine signal which had inspired me to treat you. I was obeying that divine direction.

In the first round, my husband, sons and daughter-in-laws gave their logic: “You just have been operated for cancer. If you do not take food or nutrition, it will result in lot of weakness.” They were objecting to such naturopathy treatment due to their love and affection for me, I knew. But I was very determined that I will not take ‘chemo’ second time... No means No.
I talked to my husband Rohit about fasting. I told him: “Mukeshbhai has advised fasting on sweet lime (mosambi) juice for 40 to 50 days.  So, I am thinking of starting my fasts..” But he once again expressed his doubts about this method , so I decided that it will be better  that he directly talks with Mukeshbhai.
After talking to Mukeshbhai  just for one or one and half minute, Rohit agreed for my starting the fasts. As such, I was asked to fast with the support of sweet lime (mosambi) in my diet but in that season, that fruit was not available in our place. A small change was made and my fasting started with the support of red grapes. In short, the auspicious day of 29th July, 2010, became the starting point of my new treatment and fasting.

Even if  someone is living 16,000 kms away, very good results can be achieved if the treatment is taken by the patient with full faith on you.

Her Husband told me just one sentence on the phone: ”We are just two of us. Our sons are well settled and they are living their life.”

I also replied in one sentence : “Though I am far away in India, I take full responsibility for Uma bahen’s life during my treatment.” He became very emotional and could not talk further and handed over the phone to Uma bahen.

Next day Rohit bhai  went to a store and bought 10 lbs ( 4.5 kg) of fresh red grapes. Well begun is half done. So half the battle was won with the starting of the fasts. This also became the beginning of a historical, miraculous real life story.

In the beginning, first ten to twelve days were very difficult for me. In such testing times, I would contact Mukeshbhai every morning . Because of the long, 16,000 kms distance, the only option to be on telephone line. Even from such a long distance, Mukeshbhai continuously encouraged me, guided me and cooperated with me so well that this critical period of the first few days passed away without much difficulty.

It is really very difficult to treat incurable disease like cancer through a medicine-less therapy, and that too without meeting the patient, advising just by way of phone calls. Difficult because in the present modern times in the year 2011, no one has faith on a medicine-less, naturopathy treatment. I told Rohitbhai (Uma bahen’s husband): “I am not doing some trial and error attempt on Uma bahen. This experiment I have been doing on myself for last four years and I will now do the same on her.  We have treated cancer in other patients also in this manner”. In the middle of her treatment I arranged for a telephonic talk between Uma bahen and one such patient, Usha bahen Patel. Such discussions boost up courage and faith.

I received great warmth during my this naturopathy journey from my husband Rohit, my mother-in-law and my brother who had traveled from India for my heart surgery ( mitral valve repairing ; 19-2-2010 ). Added to this was great support from friends and relatives. On top of this, I was helped a great deal by the divine grace of Lord Swaminarayan and my strong will power.
Initially, every day, a new difficulty will crop up. But I kept on progressing as per the telephonic guidance and support. I am a patient for blood pressure and was already on medicine for that before I started fasting. At the appropriate time, fourteen days after starting my fasts, as per right guidance I stopped taking medicines for BP. In fact, my daily vitamin tablets were discontinued by Mukeshbhai saying that you are now living round the clock in the heaps of vitamins, so why to take artificial vitamins?
During my fasts, my BP level remained steady at 120/80 without medicines. Most surprising reality during fasting was that I was feeling more energetic day by day. I started doing my routine household work. I started feeling that life is becoming some thing different and good.
I had taken short term disability leave from my employers. (Uma bahen works in the finance deptt. of a bank on a good post).  I was required to go to my cardiologist for follow up visit at the end of 25 days’ of fasting. When he came to know that my BP is under perfect control without any medicine, he was amazed. However, he did not much accept my ideology of fasting.
During the fasting period, my will power and inner strength was growing, I developed a positive attitude and as a result, I started coming out of depression. In this period, I had opportunity to talk with Deepika bahen on one or two occasions and she also gave me lot of encouragement.
I also could talk with Usha bahen who was also a breast cancer patient and she was also on fasts. She described her experiences and gave me courage. Her fasts had started earlier than mine.  In this period, I was religiously reciting Jan Mangal Stotra of Lord Swaminarayan. Friends and relatives were cheering me up with warmth.

I lost 15 lbs (seven kg) weight during my 45 days long fasts. I started feeling more energetic and my strength was returning. In last four months, I had undergone two major surgeries (in February & June) yet I was feeling physically and mentally fit. I started going to my job for 3-4 days in a week from 4th October, 2010. It is really a miracle for a patient like me that I am now able to go for four days on my job and also attend to routine household work.
During this long period of fasting, my diet was mainly fresh, red grapes. I would take milk as and when required. I would daily take one hour long breakfast of mild ‘sun bath’ and also walk for an hour. Any time I felt weak or hungry, I would ring up and ask: “what can I eat now?” Different people have different needs depending on the environment in which they live and also their body constitution.
At the end of my real life story about my health and vigour, I would like to say that the naturopathy treatment from Nihar Arogya Mandir pulled me out of deep depression, helped me develop a positive attitude and very strong will power. Minal bahen too has helped many others like me and gave us a new direction of living well,  by narrating her own experiences. I shall forever be grateful to her also.
I still go to my oncologist ( cancer specialist ) once in every 3-4 months for check up and my ultra sound test (sonography) was done in February,2011 and its report was normal. This was done by my doctor because he had some doubt and he wanted to be sure through this test.
In October, 2011, one more incident happened. During a routine check-up doctor observed some thing in one particular report and he became a little doubtful and he cautioned us as well. I sent few emails to Mukeshbhai and also talked to him. He told us not to worry and also said that if there again is cancer report, it will be cured, like  it has been cured before. These words  gave us some relief but still there was some worry in the heart of my heart.
Finally, nothing came out. In February 2010. I was operated for mitral valve (heart)  related problem and as a result some internal skin / wall had become thicker at some places. Doctor had first thought of it as some unusual development and , with a serious face, had asked us to go for one more test repot.
For our peace of mind, we have decided to go for periodical check up and test. At present I am neither  taking any medicines nor am I under any treatment. Now, I am determined to defeat breast cancer with fullest faith on the Lord Almighty and also on naturopathy .

Friends. This real life , true story of regaining health and vigour as written by Uma bahen in her own words & is without any untruth to make it spicy or sensational. The therapy route is wide open. Which way to go for the cure  is now entirely  your choice.
If cancer can relapse after painful, aggressive chemotherapy and heavy dose of radiation, one might be inclined to believe that the cancer was not cured but rather suppressed with such heavy doses of treatment, full of dangerous side-effects.
This treatment is not of a very routine nature. You can not do it frequently. How was it possible to obtain such a good result without surgery , only through naturopathy? Fasting itself was a surgery, performed on the operation table prepared by Mother Nature.
Uma bahen remained on this operation table for full seventy days. All medicines and normal diet were stopped. The body healed itself and once the operation was over, she stared her daily routine diet.
Grapes in place of medicines. Walking in place of tablets for blood pressure. Sun rays in place of artificial calcium. Sun shine  also gives one type of chemotherapy, isn’t it? Tolerate it a little, take it with patience and you will benefit like never before.
Uma bahen’s story is very unique in the sense that her cure was medicine-less. It may happen that cancer may relapse once again. No harm in that. It will be again cured without medicines, because presently also it is cured without medicines ! To cure the cancer, modern science did  all that was best for it and worst for the body. And still it relapsed.

Come and sit in the lap of Mother Nature. It is pure joy and nothing else. Nothing burns you except mild sunshine. There is no medicine except self-control. Time is endless. Whenever you are ready and willing, nature is waiting to welcome you.

Take medicines at your own risk.

We have often heard about how expensive most of the medicines are, how much they are sometimes over-prescribed and , worst of all, how they create long lasting side-effects, putting the health of the patients at risk ( without his knowledge).

Last week has given one extra shock to us.

One Indian parliamentary committee on health and welfare has reported last week that there are medicines manufacturing is not properly supervised. Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has joined hands with pharma companies and also medical experts to give fast approvals to their products. CDSCO has given less importance to the health of the consumers and more to the pharma companies. On an average , one new medicine is approved every month in India WITHOUT TRIALS.

CDSCO has responsibility of properly checking that the LICENSING, MARKETING & TESTING of all medicines is done in a responsible manner.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE REPORT:

  1. Often, the pharma companies were involved in writing the recommendations  of medical experts. Imagine the risk of drug companies writing and medical experts just putting their signatures! Just one example: letters submitted by three experts on RIVAROXABAN were merely ditto copies of each other!(This drug is used for anti-blood clotting & is produced by BAYER AG of Germany)
  2. Of the  39 drugs reviewed by the committee [a]as many as 25 drugs were given a green signal without  obtaining opinion of medically qualified experts, [b] eleven  drugs were not tested on different ethnic groups of Indian patients (which is very important if the drug is of foreign origin), [c] 13 drugs were not permitted to be sold in any of the major developed countries like USA, Canada, UK, Australia and European union countries.
God save the patients who are forced by doctors to blindly take large quantities of medicines

One more reason we have got to turn to Nature Cure  and alternative medicine systems!

Mahatma Gandhi on Nature Cure:

I BELIEVE that man has little need to drug himself. 999 cases out of a thousand can be brought round by means of a well-regulated diet, water and earth treatment and similar household remedies.
  • Nature has provided within the body itself the means of cleansing it, so that when illness occurs, we should realize that there exists impure matter in 6th  body and that she has commenced her cleansing process.
  • I belong to that noble, growing, but the still small school of thought which believes more in prevention than in cure, which believes in Nature doing things for herself even for suffering humanity if we would but let Nature take her course. I believe in that school of thought which considers that the less interference there is on the part of doctors, on the part of physicians and surgeons, the better it is for humanity and its morals.
  • I have been fond for about the last thirty-five years of making experiments in dietetics from the religious, economic and hygienic standpoints. This predilection for food reform still persists. People around me would naturally be influenced by my experiments. Side by side with dietetics, I made experiments in treating diseases with natural curative agents only such as earth and water and without recourse to drugs.
  • When I practised as a barrister, cordial relations were established with my clients so that we looked upon one another almost as members of the same family. The clients therefore made me a partner in their joys and sorrows. Some of them sought my advice being familiar with my experiments in nature-cure. . . I made many such experiments on the Farm ( Tolstoy Farm, South Africa), and I do not remember to have failed in even a single case."  .

Real story of one leg that refused to walk

Will  help you walk in just one  fortnight “
(The real life tale of one leg that refused to walk even one step)

Faith is not belief without proof, but it is trust without reservation

C, N Vidyalaya is a vast & well known educational campus in Ahmedabad. Shri Bharat Pattani is professor of painting in CN Fine Arts College in that campus. Popular among the students and versatile graphic artist, his body is strongly built, but with a little extra weight. No BP, no diabetes. Never even a complaint of headache.
But, such a person with good heart and good health started having a small trouble for unknown reasons. He started feeling some pain in one leg while walking. He felt the pain often but did not pay much attention to it. This went on for about 2-3 months.

Even the best surgeons in the world first obtain the signatures of some relatives before operating on the patient. Doctors are unaware about two things: one, about several micro connections between the body and various body parts and second, about the Theory of Karma (or our past deeds). Due to these two things, it is not possible to forecast what will happen after the operation is performed. One may perform operation as per the books and as per his experience  & practice, but still one may get opposite result.

Now, the matter got even more complicated. It was not possible to lift the leg in a normal manner and his leg became a cause for worry. He discussed full details with his cousin brother Mukund Prajapati, who suggested him to go for Ayurvedic treatment. This treatment was taken for 4 to 6 weeks but there was no improvement. It was then decided to go to a neurosurgeon.
He was advised to go for MRI test and the report was received by evening. The doctor studied the report and opined that he needs to be operated for the spine (backbone). The nerves connected to section 6 and 7 were getting compressed and this had severely affected the nerves in the leg, he said.
The leg was severely affected. This was a fact and there was no doubt about it. At this stage, it became impossible to climb steps. The leg would turn and twist while walking. Once in the bed, the leg was to be helped with hands if he wanted to turn the body to the other side. There was no energy left in the leg, as though it had become useless.
Even the doctor had said the same thing: “Presently, one leg has become useless. If you do not go for operation, the other leg will also become useless. Not only that, your sex life will also be affected. The more you delay, more will be the damage. So, please do not waste much time and decide as fast as possible…”

Bharatbhai was examined by a village person near Nadiad in Kheda district who was practicing as an expert in treatment of backbone. His opinion was: “The disease is in advanced stage. It is not possible to tell you how many times you will have to come here. It may take five visits or even fifty visits. Very delicate nerves coming out of the spine have been damaged and it is not possible to judge when it will become normal again.”

Operation... and that too of the backbone! By chance, suppose there is some damage during the operation to the spinal cord and its microscopic nerves (which are so delicate that they are not visible to the naked eye), then what? Suppose something gets cut and as a result, this artist will not be able to paint again, then what? Different friends were advising about many danger points of spinal surgery.
He then consulted a doctor who was a specialist in spinal surgery. His opinion was also the same: “Get admitted tomorrow and I will do the operation and thereafter I also have to go to USA.”  He kept all reports with himself and returned only after a week.
When Mother Nature wants to save you from hardships, it comes out to help you in one way or another and holds your hand. When all this was happening, election for Lalit Kala Academy was announced. Avinash Thaker had come for the election voting and told Bharatbhai: “My wife had similar problem and she took acupressure treatment and was cured. You may also try the same”.
Someone suggested that “there is a person in some village in Charotar who treats the diseases of the spine by stretching the leg. Many have been cured by him. You may also visit him. Former President Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma was also treated by him as on the recommendation of ex-Chief Minister Shri Madhavsinh Solanki”.  Bharatbhai went there also and he was examined.
Treatment was started. That person said: “Normally, this should be cured in four to eight weeks but your case is somewhat different. So, it is not possible to give exact time limit and say when it will be cured. It is possible that it may take even fifty weeks also.”
Bharatbhai  was very disappointed  when he returned home. He then remembered the advice given by Avinashbhai about accupressure.
We are discussing what happened between November 2002 and January 2003. One night in January, 2003, Bharatbhai telephoned Shri Madhav Ramanuj.  Ramanuj saheb told him : “I do not know any acupressure expert but I very well know one couple who gives Naturopathy treatment. They will surely have some cure for you. Please telephone them, take an appointment and reach Nihar Arogya Mandir in Ranip…”
Those days, I had started naturopathy consulting centre at “Vishalla” for two hours in the night. Astu - daughter of Shri Surendrabhai Patel ( owner of ‘Vishalla’ ) was a student of fine arts under Bharatbhai . So everything was organized quickly.  Bharatbhai was literally lifted and put in Surendrabhai’s car by his brother Dineshbhai, his friend Jayesh Shukla and well known sculptor Rajesh Sagara and in this way Bharatbhai arrived at Nihar..
After reaching Nihar, again Bharatbhai had to be carried from the car into the clinic. I examined him, studied his reports and told him : ” There is no need for operation”.  After suffering so much in the leg, the patient probably has heard such comforting words for the first time.
What he heard  was also very unbelievable for him. He asked: “ You mean I will  be able to walk without operation, right?” I said “yes”. Second question: “ In how many days?” I said: “ In fifteen days, but only if you strictly follow my advice”.
Bharatbhai had said: “ I will do exactly as per  your advice. I will  follow  even your most difficult  instructions”.
And then the treatment started.
Bharatbhai truly and sincerely kept his promise. He followed the most difficult procedures word by word. He was made to fast only on water. When he became thirsty, he was allowed to take only plain, boiled water (after it had cooled down). Every night, before going to bed, he was taking four tablespoons of castor oil. Daily four spoonfuls of castor oil and that too on empty stomach! As though this was not enough – four spoonful of castor oil to be taken again after getting up in the morning (after cleaning the throat with gargles). So, total eight spoonfuls of castor oil...daily.
Someone will question: How can you ask 50 grams of castor oil to be taken on empty stomach with only little quantity of plain water?  But don’t the doctors prescribe harmful steroids as a part of his prescription and in abnormal situations, don’t their very intelligent patients obediently take them? Here, it is just castor oil, which is , though indirectly, a part of our diet.
Shri Vadilalbhai, the grandfather of our friend Ravindrabhai Kansara was a friend of Shri Ambubhai Purani ( the founder of Vyayamshala or the public gym in Ahmedabad almost a century ago). He consulted a doctor at the age of 10 when he had some illness. The doctor had then opined that his heart was weak. So Vadilalbhai started going to the public gym and worked so hard for his health that he was later on known as Vadilal Pahelvan ( body builder or wrestler). Vadilalbhai would, once in a week would swallow a glassful of castor oil at the bed time! This Vadilalbhai, once labelled as having a weak heart, lived 91 long years.
Let us return to Bharatbhai. He completed five days’ fast, with only water and castor oil. He could feel some improvement by this time. After a few days, fresh lime juice in water was added to his diet/treatment. No sugar, nothing except lime juice in plain water. Exactly after two weeks, he started walking with the help of a stick, just as I had told him in the beginning.
He would take about three months to walk without the stick, because when he came to us, his weight was 95kg and this would be a heavy load and stress on his backbone. There was nothing called ‘ physical exercise’ in his daily routine so it will require little more time to reverse the damage to the body system due his earlier life style.
He was a passionate artist. He would paint even when he was not teaching his students in the fine arts college. When you are painting, you often forget all that is surrounding you. And then only your best will come out. You and your work and nothing else in between is the key for perfection. There would be many days he was  so engrossed in painting  that he would not feel hungry and would forget to take his meals.
For two weeks, he remained only on simple, plain lime water and then for next two full months he was kept on dates (khajoor) and spinach soup. Alongwith this, his daily treatment at our centre continued.
Every day, he came to the centre with the help of a friend or his younger brother Dineshbhai. For about six to eight weeks, it was not possible for him to drive his two-wheeler to the centre. His treatment included mud pack on the abdomen, steam treatment to the affected part and full body steam treatment at appropriate times.
When he was fasting on plain, boiled water, his mother had once inquired: “ How can you take this much castor oil daily, my dear?” When he took castor oil, his mothers face would look as if she had tasted castor oil. But Bharatbhai sincerely followed every single instruction during the treatment.
I had asked him in the very beginning to walk five to ten steps once he started feeling some sensation in the leg, after five days of treatment. If necessary, support from the wall can be taken during this trial.
After two such weeks, Bharatbhai started taking sun bath, lying in the bed in the open space in his house, as it was possible for him to walk a few steps. His daily routine was walking exercise  four to five times a day,  sun bath and treatment at Nihar, our centre. After fifteen days, he could daily walk a thousand steps.
His basic problem was related to his nerves. There could be many reasons for such an attack on the nerves…physical, mental & social. Everything was adding up, pressure was mounting and finally all this jointly resulted in this damage. The micro pressure on the brain and nerves could have  come from one or more specific sources but it was difficult to find that cause. So, the operation was conducted in a natural way. Fasting  done by the patient completed that job.
Nature cure means treating the patient on the nature’s own operation table. Five specialist doctors from nature’s side – Dr. Agni (fire), Dr. Prithvi (earth), Dr. Jal (water), Dr. Vayu (air) and Dr. Akash (space), the five powerful natural elements-  got together and did this marvellous job of repairing the microscopic nerves. When the patient is fasting, there is little or no food intake and that is when natural forces will start working most powerfully to cure the disease.
Treatment also included  a large cold water bandage on the affected leg. It could be wet cotton or khadi type cloth, with additional woolen cloth covering it. When convenient, it can be applied for one hour or more, up to  seven hours a day.
After twenty days of treatment , he was advised to take sweet  lime (mosambi) with its fibre. Castor oil was continued for a good long period. Bharatbhai came for our treatment for about three months. Thereafter, he started his original daily duties so smoothly that we thereafter did not come to know much about it.
Today (in 2002),  already nine years have passed. Bharatbhai now does not have  slightest effect left on his mind or body about the hurricane that stormed his life. He keeps  sending his artist friends and others to our centre for nature cure treatment. He still feels indebted and deeply grateful to Mother Nature for his miraculous cure. His contact information:
